003: Steve Bolton – Building a successful property franchise while getting time with his 4 kids

Steve Bolton - Parentpreneur Accelerator Podcast Interviewee

In this episode of the Parentpreneur Accelerator Podcast, I talk to fellow parentpreneur, Steve Bolton. He’s a dad of four and founder of Platinum Property Partners.

Steve is a highly successful entrepreneur, who has had rollercoaster ride, after making his first million through an outdoor adventure and management training business before he was 30, Steve then encountered financial difficulties like many other business owners during the financial downturn of 2001.

In what he describes as the ‘best worst experience of his life’ he realised that it was his home that saved him from bankruptcy. As a result, he was inspired to rebuild his fortune on the solid foundation of buy-to-let property investment.

Over the course of the following 15 years, Steve built his own property portfolio and turned this into a franchise model – through which he helps others to achieve financial freedom through property investment.

When I first met Steve in 2015, he was speaking at an event in which he shared the lessons he’d learned in building his businesses. I found his guidance really useful, and have implemented much of what he taught – including: Getting a driver for car journeys so I can work during this time, joining a mastermind group to help me raise my game, and using some of his other great tips for dreaming big.

Steve lives in Bournemouth in the UK with his wife and four children and is passionate about being the best dad he can be. I know he truly walks the talk in this regard, so it was great to him about how he built his business whilst fulfilling this goal.

In this interview Steve shares some great tips on how to spend more of your journey being successful, and provides one particularly amazing suggestion on how to be more happy and content with your progress.
